The full range of Haibo electric motors is covered by a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase.
The warranty does not cover defects or damages resulting from:
- Purchase of the product from unofficial Haibo dealers. Such dealers are independently liable to the consumer in accordance with applicable Lithuanian law;
- Failure to perform timely maintenance;
- Damage caused by force majeure events, including but not limited to fire, earthquake, flood, or acts of third parties;
- Violations of the rules regarding operation, storage, or transportation of the product;
- Disassembly, adjustment, repair, or any structural modifications performed without authorization from an official Haibo service center.
The dealer reserves the right to refuse or limit warranty coverage for Haibo electric motors if structural modifications have been made independently or through an unauthorized service center, or if a warranty claim is submitted after the prescribed warranty period.
In cases of self-repair, spare parts may be ordered from the nearest authorized service center or dealer. Addresses and locations can be found in the “Where to Buy” section.
Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt, provided the consumer fully explains the issues encountered. Please allow up to 5 business days for the return to be processed. All motors must be returned in their original packaging, including all accessories. Consumers are responsible for all shipping costs related to returning items.
Power Consumption: Normal Mode vs Sport Mode
The Haibo M-150 is designed to provide controlled power across the full speed range while operating from a 12V battery.
In Normal Mode, current draw varies with the speed setting and operating load, reaching up to 50A at maximum power.
For situations where additional thrust is needed, Sport Mode increases the available power, with current draw reaching up to 65A. Because of the higher power demand, it will consume battery capacity faster than Normal Mode.
Normal Mode - up to 50A
Suitable for regular cruising, trolling and everyday operation. Lower speed settings reduce current consumption significantly, helping extend battery runtime.
Sport Mode - up to 65A
Provides maximum available thrust when extra power is required. The higher current draw increases battery consumption, so Sport Mode will reduce runtime compared with Normal Mode.
Important: When choosing a battery, check not only its capacity in Ah but also its maximum discharge-current rating. For LiFePO4 and Li-ion NMC batteries, both the battery and its BMS must support the motor's maximum current demand. If Sport Mode will be used, choose a battery/BMS with a continuous discharge rating of at least 65A.
Choosing the Right Battery
The Haibo M-150 operates on a 12V battery and can deliver up to 80 lb of thrust without requiring a 24V dual-battery system. For regular use, we recommend a 12V deep-cycle battery with a capacity in the 80-120 Ah range.
80 Ah - Light use
A lighter option for shorter trips, occasional trolling and situations where minimum battery weight is important.
100 Ah - Recommended
A good balance of capacity, weight and runtime for typical fishing trips.
120 Ah - Longer trips
Provides additional energy reserve for longer days on the water and more frequent motor use.
Which Battery Type Should You Choose?
Battery chemistry matters just as much as the Ah rating. A 100 Ah lithium battery and a 100 Ah lead-acid battery should not be expected to provide the same practical runtime, because their usable capacity, voltage characteristics and performance under load are different.
LiFePO4 - Best choice for frequent use
LiFePO4 batteries combine high usable capacity, relatively low weight and stable voltage during discharge. They are particularly well suited to electric trolling motors when long runtime, frequent use and lower battery weight are priorities. Make sure the battery and its BMS are rated for the current required by the M-150.
Li-ion NMC - High energy density
Lithium-ion NMC batteries can provide high usable capacity in a compact and lightweight package. However, the battery pack must be designed for the required discharge current and include an appropriate battery management and protection system.
GEL / AGM - Practical lead-acid alternatives
GEL and AGM deep-cycle batteries are suitable for trolling-motor use and are generally less expensive than lithium options. They are, however, considerably heavier for the same rated capacity and typically provide less usable energy under load than a comparable lithium battery.
Flooded Lead-acid - Budget option
A flooded deep-cycle lead-acid battery can power the M-150, but it is the heaviest option and its effective capacity decreases as discharge current increases. Repeated deep discharge can also shorten battery life, so the full rated Ah capacity should not be treated as fully usable energy.
Our recommendation: For most M-150 users, a 100 Ah LiFePO4 battery offers an excellent combination of runtime, usable capacity and weight. A 100-120 Ah AGM or GEL deep-cycle battery is a practical alternative when initial cost is more important than weight and maximum usable capacity.
Estimated Runtime with a 100 Ah Battery

At full power in Normal Mode, the motor can draw up to 50 A. Reducing the speed setting lowers power consumption considerably and can significantly extend the time you can spend on the water.
As shown in the graph, LiFePO4 batteries provide the longest estimated runtime, while GEL/AGM and flooded lead-acid batteries provide progressively less usable operating time under load. Lead-acid batteries generally provide less usable capacity under higher discharge rates, which can reduce practical runtime compared with LiFePO4 batteries.

Can the Haibo M-150 be used in saltwater?
Yes. The Haibo M-150 is suitable for use in both freshwater and saltwater. After use in saltwater, we recommend rinsing the motor thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt deposits and help protect its components.
