Description

The Argo-Evo 360 ALU with Aluminum Transom is a heavy-duty 3.6 m inflatable boat designed for fishing, longer trips, and regular use with an outboard motor. The aluminum transom provides a rigid, corrosion-resistant mounting structure for the motor while retaining the onboard space, stability, and portability of the standard Argo-Evo 360.

The boat accommodates up to 5 persons and has a load capacity of 475 kg. It is particularly well suited for two anglers carrying a full set of gear, extra fuel, and camping or fishing equipment. The 3.6 m hull and large 45 cm tube diameter provide good buoyancy and stable handling under load, while the spacious interior allows comfortable movement onboard and provides plenty of room for equipment.

The inflatable side tube and bottom are made from durable 5-layer 1100 g/m² PVC with a Carbon-style finish. Heat-welded seams provide strong, airtight joints while maintaining the flexibility of the material at the connection points. This helps the joints withstand changes in tube pressure and temperature during use. A pressure relief valve provides additional protection against excessive internal pressure when the boat heats up in the sun.

Three independent air chambers increase safety and buoyancy, while the inflatable keel helps the boat track straight and improves directional control. A protective keel strip shields the most exposed central section of the bottom from abrasion and mechanical damage, while the rubbing strake around the tube provides additional protection when docking or coming into contact with piers and other boats. The rigid aluminum floor creates a stable surface for standing, moving around the boat, and fishing.

The boat supports outboard motors up to 20 HP. The combination of a rigid aluminum floor, inflatable keel, and aluminum transom makes the Argo-Evo 360 ALU a practical choice for regular fishing trips, hunting, recreational boating, and longer journeys on lakes and rivers. The boat can be packed into separate transport bags for convenient storage and transportation without requiring a trailer.

FAQ

What outboard motor can be installed on the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom?

The Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom can be used with outboard motors up to 20 HP. For most users, a 9.9-15 HP motor is a practical choice, depending on the number of people on board, the total load, and the performance you expect from the boat.

What outboard motor power is needed for planing?

As a general guideline, an inflatable PVC boat may need roughly 1 HP for every 25-30 kg of total weight to get on plane. This is only an approximate guideline, as actual planing performance also depends on the hull design, weight distribution, motor and propeller setup, water and weather conditions, and other factors. The total weight includes the boat, motor, fuel, people on board, and gear.

For example, the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom (68 kg) with a 9.9 HP motor (around 42 kg), fuel (around 10 kg), one person weighing around 80 kg, and around 10 kg of gear has a total weight of approximately 210 kg. Based on the 25-30 kg per HP guideline, a 9.9 HP motor corresponds to approximately 250-300 kg of total weight for planing. In this example, the total weight is around 210 kg, leaving some capacity for additional load. With more passengers or gear, a 15 HP motor is a better choice for more reliable planing.

What outboard shaft length is suitable for the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom?

The Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom is designed for outboard motors with a short S shaft. The transom height is 381 mm (15 inches), so the outboard shaft length should be selected accordingly.

Can an electric outboard motor be installed on the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom?

Yes. The Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom can be used with both petrol and electric outboard motors. When choosing an electric motor, consider its thrust, the total load of the boat, and the intended operating conditions, and make sure that its weight does not exceed the maximum permitted motor weight shown on the boat's CE plate.

How many people is the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom designed for?

The Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom can carry up to 5 people. For fishing, it is most comfortable for 2-3 people, leaving enough room for fishing gear and free movement inside the boat.

What does the maximum load capacity include?

The maximum load capacity of the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom is 475 kg. This is the total permitted load carried by the boat and includes passengers, the outboard motor, fuel, battery where applicable, fishing or hunting equipment, and other gear.

Is the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom suitable for fishing?

Yes. The rigid aluminum floor provides a stable surface for fishing, while the 3.6 m hull provides enough space for anglers and their gear. The inflatable keel improves tracking and directional control, while the aluminum transom provides a rigid and durable mounting base for regular use with an outboard motor.

What is the difference between an aluminum floor and an AirDeck?

An aluminum floor provides greater rigidity and a firm surface for standing, moving around the boat, fishing, and carrying heavier gear. An AirDeck is lighter, more compact when packed, and faster to set up. The better choice depends on whether you prioritize maximum floor rigidity or lower weight and faster assembly.

What are the advantages of the aluminum transom?

The aluminum transom provides a rigid and durable mounting base for an outboard motor, launching wheels, and other compatible accessories. It does not absorb water and offers excellent corrosion resistance in both fresh and salt water, making it a practical choice for regular and intensive use throughout the season.

What standard equipment is included with the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom?

The standard equipment for the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom includes 2 aluminum bench seats on a sliding rail system, non-slip aluminum floorboards, a keel guard, a rubbing strake, a safety rope, 3 inflation valves, 1 over-pressure relief valve, a towing D-ring, PVC passenger grab handles, 4 PVC carrying handles, a drain plug, 2 aluminum oars, 2 oarlocks, 2 oar holders, a fuel tank / battery securing strap, a boat carry bag, an aluminum floor carry bag, a bow storage bag, a repair kit, and a foot air pump.

How easy is the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom to transport and assemble?

The boat and aluminum floor are packed in two separate carry bags, making them easier to transport and store. Assembly typically takes about 15-25 minutes depending on experience. Due to the size and weight of the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom, assembly and handling are generally easier with two people.

What pressure is recommended for the tube and inflatable keel?

The recommended pressure for the main tube is 0.25 bar / 3.63 psi. The recommended pressure for the inflatable keel is also 0.25 bar / 3.63 psi. Air pressure changes with temperature, so it should be checked and adjusted when necessary during use.

Does the black PVC get hot in direct sunlight?

Like any inflatable boat, the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom can warm up when exposed to direct sunlight, and the air pressure inside the tube can increase as the temperature rises. When the boat is on the water, contact with the water helps regulate the hull temperature, but tube pressure should still be monitored according to the operating instructions.

The boat is also equipped with an over-pressure relief valve designed to release excess air if the pressure inside the tube becomes too high.

What should I do if the tube or inflatable keel develops a puncture or slow air leak?

The included repair kit can be used to repair small punctures in the PVC fabric. If the boat is slowly losing pressure, first consider whether the pressure change may be caused by a change in temperature. Then check the valves and the areas around their installation, and inspect the affected air chamber for leaks.

The boat has independent air chambers, so loss of pressure in one chamber does not cause the other chambers to deflate. Damage to seams, valves, or larger areas of PVC should be inspected and repaired professionally.

Can the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom be used in salt water?

Yes. The Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom can be used in both fresh and salt water. After use in salt water, rinse the boat, aluminum transom, aluminum floor, fittings, motor, and other exposed equipment with fresh water and allow everything to dry thoroughly before storage.

Where can the Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom be used?

The Argo-Evo 360 with Aluminum Transom is classified as Design Category D under the CE requirements for recreational craft. This category covers operation in conditions with wind force up to and including Beaufort 4 and significant wave heights up to and including 0.3 m, with occasional waves up to a maximum height of 0.5 m.

The boat is recommended for use on lakes, rivers, and sheltered inshore waters within its specified operating limits. Weather and water conditions, boat load, and local boating regulations should always be considered before going on the water.

How should the boat be stored during winter?

Before long-term storage, clean and thoroughly dry the boat. Store it in a dry, temperature-stable location away from direct sunlight, heat sources, chemicals, and sharp objects. If the boat is stored folded in its carry bag, make sure the PVC is completely dry. Avoid sharp folds in the material and do not place heavy objects on top of the folded boat.
